Access to Resettlement and Complementary Pathways for Syrian Refugees

As return in safety and dignity is currently not possible and obstacles to local integration in the region remain, third country solutions become a priority for displaced Syrians. Resettlement,, which is the organised identification, selection and transportation of refugees to a third country where they would get refugee status, be expected to integrate and eventually able to naturalise, represents a sensible solution. In this report, the Durable Solutions Platform, Norwegian Refugee Council, International Rescue Committee and Danish Refugee Council highlight design and practical considerations to maximise refugees’ access to resettlement and complementary pathways, while taking refugees’ perspectives into consideration.
